Turkish Mountaineering Federation 2021 Activity Program has been published.
Our activity program; It consists of 6 main sections: Mountaineering, Sports Climbing, Mountain Skiing, Canyoning, High Mountain Running and Ice Climbing.
A total of 193 activities consisting of sports climbing, ice climbing, mountain skiing and high mountain runs competitions, national team camps, referee and coach courses are planned to be carried out with our activities prepared within the scope of the Turkish Mountaineering Federation Training Directive, which came into force in 2020.
Our Federation, which aims to increase the number of athletes in all our branches and train elite athletes, has increased the number of referees and coaches and increased activities in line with the opportunities in order to make the necessary updates with development seminars. As is known, our Federation hosted the General Assembly of the Balkan Mountaineers Association in 2018 and the International Mountain Ski Federation (ISMF) in 2019. In 2020, it was planned to host the General Assembly of the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation (UIAA), the top organization in the mountaineering community, but the General Assembly was held online due to the Covid-19 pandemic worldwide. With the request of our Federation and the election held at the UIAA 2020 online General Assembly, the general assembly in Turkey in 2021 was decided again by the votes of the delegates.
The year 2020, when we experienced the last days, did not allow many activities to be carried out due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Our Federation has published publications in order to enlighten our community and protect our athletes, especially in the first days of the epidemic, and also to issue a directive(TDF Covid-19Health Rules Directivei) that should be followed in the Normalization Process and shared the health rules to be followed in the activities. Changes will be made to the 2021 activity program when necessary depending on the course of the epidemic process. First of all, after the continued training programs, competitions and climbs are planned.
